The latest PISA results published on September 8th showed a declining trend in reading literacy for most countries. In many countries we have seen strong immediate reactions in the media, among policy makers and literacy stakeholders. Some offer explanations, others suggest solutions for improving literacy, and others question the relevance of the PISA studies.
