We are pleased to inform you that the call for applications and nominations for the UNESCO International Literacy Prizes has just been launched. The theme for this year is ‘Literacy and Multilingualism’.

Since 1967, UNESCO International Literacy Prizes have rewarded excellence and innovation in the field of literacy. Over 490 projects and programmes undertaken by governments, non-governmental organizations and individuals around the world have been recognized. Through these prestigious Prizes, UNESCO seeks to support effective literacy practices and encourages the promotion of dynamic literate societies.

Ms Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, invites you to submit nominations ”widely in your country, among local public education, learning and training institutions, public and private organizations and other stakeholders involved in literacy programmes”.… Read the rest
