(Nederlands/ English) Deze week is er in Georgië een interview met mij verschenen over digitale geletterdheid in het talenonderwijs. Het interview is verschenen in het online tijdschrift van de National Teacher Professional Development Centre, Internet Journal Mastsavlebeli.ge, en afgenomen door Paata Papava, een lerarenopleider en onderwijsexpert. Het interview vond plaats in de zomer 2019 in Tbilisi tijdens mijn solo motorreis naar de Kaukasus. Hier de Georgische versie, goed voor je taalgevoel. Digital literacy and the language teacher. A new definition of literacy and the language curriculum.

Digital literacy asks for a change of the definition of literacy, an update of the necessary language skills and a new language curriculum to make education relevant and up to date.

One of the major tasks of a language teacher is to increase pupils’ literacy: to be able to read and write well, and to deal with information critically and in a well-considered way. Nowadays, all information is on the internet and communication is mainly online. Acquiring, processing and providing information online is different and more complex than when we mainly used offline, paper, sources. The Digital Literacy Lab for Educators announces their next project, a 5-week free online course on digital literacies, in partnership with the Commonwealth of Learning and Dilectae. You can enrol here.
I think this to be an interesting MOOC. I will participate [JCL].
The uncertain future facing society at large due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis makes the need for widespread digital literacy even greater. We believe this is an essential course of personal and professional development for instructors, mentors, learners, and anyone interested in making sense of our society’s reflexive relationship with technology. Digitale geletterdheid als onderdeel van Nederlands: een uitdaging en een noodzaak (update)

Digitale geletterdheid is een uitdaging om de definitie van taalvaardigheid en het curriculum van Nederlands eens flink op de schop te nemen en het onderwijs daarin weer relevant en up-to-date te maken.

Een belangrijke taak van een leraar Nederlands is het vergroten van de geletterdheid van leerlingen: goed kunnen lezen en schrijven, kritisch en weloverwogen met informatie kunnen omgaan. Tegenwoordig staat alle informatie op internet en de communicatie gebeurt vooral online. Het verwerven, verwerken en verstrekken van onlineinformatie is anders en complexer dan toen we vooral offline, papieren, bronnen gebruikten. Digitale geletterdheid in het examen Nederlands (Update)

Op de site neerlandistiek.nl is een discussie gaande over het verbeteren van het examen Nederlands. Ik heb ook meegepraat met mijn stuk ‘Digitale geletterdheid moet in het examen Nederlands‘ dat op 18/07/20 is verschenen op neerlandistiek.nl. Het stuk is ook als pdf te downloaden.
Mijn standpunt is dat digitale geletterdheid geïntegreerd moet worden in het curriculum en in het examen Nederlands moet worden opgenomen. Ben benieuwd naar feedback en discussie. Discussieer mee via reactiemogelijkheid beneden. Verder zal ik de discussie die zich via de sociale media voltrekt ook aan het eind van dit stuk proberen bij te houden.… Read the rest
